Health is the Greatest of all Possessions

Every time you eat or drink you feed or fight a disease. After all we are what we eat. So it is essential to choose wisely. A healthy body leads to a healthy mind and that leads to a positive attitude towards life. The rule is just as simple, the way you treat your body is the way it treats you.

For wholesome family wellness it is very important that healthy habits are cultivated in the family from the very beginning. When good eating and exercise habits are formed at home, they can last a lifetime.
When kids are young, parents have the advantage because the kids eat most of their meals at home. If you stock your cupboards and fridge with nutritious foods and toss out the junk, then your whole family will eat good and stay healthy. Create healthy snacking habits by leaving out bowls of fruit, cut-up vegetables, nuts, or dried fruits.

Another healthy habit that promotes family happiness is having meals together. Sitting down to have meals as a family is a great way to connect with one another.

But which kid does not like pizza, burgers, aerated drinks and other fried foods? In that case, a great health trick mothers can adopt is learning to make leaner versions of your family's favorites. Remember, the more they get at home the lesser they would munch on outside.

Keep a tab on the idle habits like computer games and TV watching. Too much of either leads to inactivity and mindless munching.

Life's hectic routine barely leaves time for gym or daily workout sessions but exercise is of vital importance to stay fit and energized.

Try being each other's inspiration for exercising regularly or it is a great idea to take up some physical activity or sport as a family and play at least 3-4 times a week.

Learn/teach how to ride a cycle, play football or anything new. It not only boosts health but also builds stronger bonding between the family.

Teach your kids the benefits of timely bed habits, the importance of fresh fruits, veggies and organic foods over fried and packaged products. They will definitely thank you one day.

It is also very essential to preach and practice good sanitary habits. Washing hands before eating and such small things are hygiene habits that go a long way in promoting life longevity.

At last do not forget to spend some quality time with all your family on a daily basis, even if it is for ten minutes. You never know what you might get to share. Make efforts, enhance your family's wellness and happiness.
